The studio

Where you are coming, and what happens.

Sessions are held in a timber cabin at the back of a quiet residential property in Auckland. Here is the whole visit, from the driveway to the door and back out again.

You stay fully clothed throughout. There is nothing to bring and nothing to prepare.

1

Parking

The studio is a cabin at the back of a quiet residential property in Auckland, reached down the side of the house.

There is off-street parking, and a short path of stepping stones from the driveway to the door.

Park in front of the house.

A woman stepping out of a small white car parked in a driveway beside a dark weatherboard house.
  • The same woman walking away from the parked car towards the side of the house, a tote bag over one arm.
  • A narrow gravel path with slate stepping stones running along the side of the house towards a timber cabin at the rear.

2

Arriving

Jessie meets people at the door of the cabin. If the weather is good there is a seat outside, and a cup of tea before anything begins.

There is no waiting room and nobody else booked at the same time. Arriving a few minutes early is fine.

Jessie and a visitor sitting talking on an outdoor couch against a dark timber fence.
  • The two of them mid-conversation on the outdoor couch, planting foliage behind the fence.
  • Jessie and the visitor sitting outside holding cups of tea.
  • Jessie standing in the open doorway of the timber cabin, smiling, with the couch visible inside behind her.

3

Before

You sit down together first. Jessie asks what has brought you in and what you would like to put your attention on, and answers anything you want to ask.

Nothing is recorded. This part takes as long as it needs to.

Jessie and a visitor sitting and talking inside the cabin, the visitor on a grey couch and Jessie on a chair beside a small round table.
  • The visitor speaking, gesturing with one hand, a shelf of cards and small objects on the timber wall behind.
  • The two seated facing each other across the round table inside the cabin.
  • Jessie listening, hands resting together, the visitor opposite her.

4

During

You lie on the table, fully clothed, with a blanket over you. Jessie works with her hands resting on or held just above the head, shoulders and body.

Most people close their eyes. Some talk, most do not. There is nothing you need to do.

Jessie standing at the head of the treatment table with her eyes closed and her hands held above a person lying under a blanket, a warm lamp beside them.
  • Jessie with both hands resting lightly either side of the person's head.
  • A wider view of the same, the timber wall and lamp behind, the person lying still under a white blanket.
  • Jessie's hands held a few inches above the blanket over the person's chest.
  • A close view of Jessie's hands above the blanket, the person lying with their eyes closed.
  • The room seen through the doorway, Jessie working beside the table and the lamp lit behind her.

5

After

You get up in your own time. There is water, and a few minutes sitting down again to talk about anything that came up.

If you asked for them, Jessie writes a few lines by hand afterwards and sends them to your own page here later.

Jessie standing inside the cabin doorway, a visitor stepping out into the light.
  • The two of them standing talking in the open doorway of the cabin.
  • A visitor with a tote bag on her arm at the cabin door, Jessie inside, sunlight across the timber.
  • Jessie and the visitor seated again inside the cabin, talking after the session.

That is the whole of it.

If anything here raises a question, ask before you book rather than after.
